The unique sound of Vancouver-based rock trio Brass Camel blends various elements of rock, funk, and prog music. With three national tours since early 2023 and more than 150 shows under their belt, Brass Camel came into the studio inspired and self-assured. Working with multiple award winner Ben Kaplan, the band pounded out a second full-length album that alternates between long-form art rock excursions and short, snappy rock tracks.
Their new song "Borrowed Time" is a bold commentary on the fast-paced nature of the modern world and the heartbreaking soullessness of the big business that permeates every aspect of city life. I love the funky riffs (what a sound!), the quality and dynamic rhythm section, the energetic vocals, and in general, the mood of the song, extremely catchy and enjoyable from start to finish, also thanks to a top-notch production.
