American alternative musician Garret Ashton, a well-known singer-songwriter and guitarist from Houston, Texas, goes under the stage name Transmission Lost. He tells stories about hope, fate, love, death, the quest for meaning, and the gaps in between by fusing aspects of his rock, punk, grunge, blues, hip-hop, and electronic music backgrounds.
Following his first trip to Paris, Garret composed his most recent single, called Josephine. He was very curious about Napoleon's past. and the song explores Napoleon Bonaparte's legendary character, presenting him as a determined, and ambitious man who will stop at nothing to win his beloved Josephine over.
The song opens with a tasty stoner guitar riff, followed by melodic vocals (great harmonies!).
Josephine features great drumming and a super catchy chorus, reminding me of something in between Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age. Great performance, production, and overall catchy, energetic, and extremely enjoyable from start to finish. A very cool song, and absolutely recommended.
