Never Ending Winter is the second glimpse of the upcoming concept album, Wolf In The Sky. The song is inspired by the catastrophic aftermath of a series of massive volcanic eruptions starting in the year 536 – events that triggered a “volcanic winter,” widespread crop failure, famine, plague, and enormous human loss. The track captures the feeling of being trapped in a brutal moment of historical fate, while channeling a modern, progressive power that takes the band to new heights.
It's a quality track from every point of view, with super catchy vocals (check out the chorus), a superb middle section, a fantastic guitar solo, and an outstanding performance on drums by Baard Kolstad (Leprous, Rendezvous Point). The sound is spot on, with a fantastic mix by Peter Michelsen, and great performance on drums is Baard Kolstad (Leprous, Rendezvous Point).
