Interview - Madison Deaver

Madison Deaver has been chasing music for the majority of her life. In her teens the Los Angeles singer/songwriter began transforming her experiences into lyrics and setting those lyrics to music. Now 22, Madison works hands-on with producers to create not only the lyrics but each element of her songs.

- How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as pop-rock with 2000’s influence

- What do you write about?
I write about all my personal experiences! I love to create my life into songs

- What do you listen to when you are home?
I listen to alternative, rock, and pop! But every Wednesday I listen to Apples new music Friday! I love hearing the new stuff that’s out.

- Your favourite live performance so far?
My favorite live performance would have to be in Boston at Zone 3. I was so excited getting to sing my music live for the first time in a while.

- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage
A funny story would have to be while in Boston when I was performing and I accidentally stepped on the cord and took the mic out. So I decided to scream/sing the lyrics for the time being while I tried to get the cord back in because I have 0 hand eye coordination. It took a minute.

- Your favourite albums?
One of my all time favorite albums is Broken Machine by Nothing But Thieves

- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
I would love to meet Gwen Stefani and P!nk

- What would you ask backstage if you were the most important band on earth?
For all of the wireless microphones. I’m SERIOUS about always ripping out the cord while performing.
