Our last release is “Gli alberi di Stavropol” (the trees of Stavropol). Stavropol is a Russian city in the Caucasus where I went often and it’s full of trees and there are strong winds that shake their leaves . At night the shadows of the trees were projected from the city lights in the street on the walls of the house where I lived, and it seemed that they wanted to speak to me some secrets. In addition to this, the album is a story of the journey of our interior spirit through the desires and illusions of this life.
- How would you describe your sound?
We think our sound is like “progressive-rock music” with a little heavy metal rising somewhere and sometimes. - What do you write about? We write about life and the things that went by in our youth and illusions about what we wished. And about love, of course.
- What do you listen to when you are home?
I listen to various artists, from Italian groups like “PFM” to Iron Maiden, Metallica, Dream Theater with some folk, our Italian and Irish folk.
- Your favourite live performance so far?
The one we had in our city, Bologna, in May 2022 where we presented our latest album “Gli alberi di Stavropol”. It was very very deep and complete.
- Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage
There are many episodes, because we love to joke, but I remember one where we were serious, in a concert in a theatre, where I (I’m the bassist) announced with a long speech the next song we were going to play and at the ends of my words Marco, the singer, looked at me and said..” Valerio, are you sure, What did you drink? That song will be after two songs from this!” Embarrassing, but we started to laugh and the audience too!
- Your favourite albums?
“selling England by the pound (Genesis), Misplaced Childhood (Marillion), BMS (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso)
- A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Steve Hackett, ex Genesis guitarist - What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth? An excellent audio technician with an excellent audio mixer and something to drink!
- What are your plans for the near future?
We are planning some concerts (in Italy but we would like to go abroad too) and we are beginning to write some new material for the next album.
