Chain Home - The promise

Chain Home is a Norwegian Thrash/Prog metal band from Fredrikstad. The band formed in 2015 and released their debut album "Instincts" on July 28th, 2018. The band gained fame in 2017 after competing in UKM, earning a berth at the Norwegian rock/metal festival "Tonnes Of Rock" in Halden, Norway and "MÃ¥nefestivalen" in their hometown Fredrikstad.

The band's roster consists of founding members and cousins Amund Johansen (drums) and William Johansen (lead vocals/guitar), as well as Morten "Edvik" Haugen (backing vocals/guitar) and Fredrik Olsson (bass).

THE PROMISE
is their new song about overcoming addiction, specifically drinking, in this case. It is about getting to the bottom of things and bettering yourself for those you care about.
I love all the different contaminations and the song's influence. Some classic metal power ballad vibes with some prog bits (reminding me of Queensryche) towards the end of the song, in the solo section. A very interesting song with lots of tasty details (I love the arpeggio/bass lines during the verses, just to mention one), amazingly written and performed by the band.
