There
are moments in a man's life when everything he believed to know
dissolves. Not due to a mistake, but because, at the end of the long
journey, the truth he was searching for is not there waiting for him. Nothing Really Matters, the new single by Stranger Vision,
moves within this space, where Faust, after years of research and
study, finds himself looking beyond the boundaries he has always known,
towards a new, wider, more uncertain horizon.
The track does not speak of defeat, but of transformation. Nothing Really Matters
becomes an existential manifesto, an invitation to search not for what
has already been discovered, but for what remains hidden beyond the line
of the visible.
Riccardo Toni, the band's guitarist, describes the song as “the most progressive of the album. We
wanted a track that was powerful, modern, but that also carried the
melancholy of someone who, at the end of a long journey, realizes that
the road is still long ahead," says Toni. “The keyboards rise and fall
dynamically, while the guitar solo winds through different registers,
creating an energy that reflects the incessant and tireless search.
Faust has realized that knowledge is not enough, that there is something
beyond that he has not yet seen, and so he continues to search.”
The single features a special guest: James LaBrie from Dream Theater,
who have just announced their reunion with Mike Portnoy, to be followed
by a new album and world tour. James LaBrie's presence in this song is
not just a musical collaboration, but the meeting of two voices that
reflect like distant mirrors. "James didn't come just to sing," recounts Ivan Adami, Stranger Vision's lead singer, "he
listened, added new ideas that changed everything. He took the song and
elevated it to a new level. His deep and assured voice accompanies
Faust on this new journey, not as a guide but as a companion, towards
even bigger questions than he had previously asked."
Nothing Really Matters is
not an act of surrender but of openness. Faust hasn't stopped
searching; he has simply realized that the answers he had found so far
were not the right ones. It is a moment of transition, a path that does
not end but changes direction. The song speaks of a man who knows that
the truth is not where he has been searching, but that the road to
finding it is still long and uncertain.
With Faust. Act I: Prelude To Darkness, their new album (coming November 8, 2024),
Stranger Vision is not just telling a story of knowledge but of
transformation. Of a man who, faced with the limits of human knowledge,
chooses to go beyond. Nothing Really Matters is the point where
everything changes. It is not that nothing matters; it's that we may
not have yet understood what truly matters.

Stranger Vision’s third studio album is a new chapter in their musical and thematic exploration. The concept album is divided into two parts and is inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s masterpiece, Faust, a timeless tale that explores the depths of the human soul, the conflict between ambition and morality, and the relentless search for meaning.
