Unfaithfull is an Industrial-Core metal band based in Italy and active since 2007. The aim is to grind
together the '90s crushing death metal style with the cold and ultra modern fascination of electronic post
industrial. The sound is rich of various influences as industrial metal, metalcore, groove metal, djent
metal, death metal. In 2020 their third album AEON won the “Self Release Of The Month” award on Rock Hard Italy magazine, in 2015 the “Best EP” on European Metal Channel.
The new album Architextures is now about to be released with Wanikiya Records, on all digital
platforms/stores.
Hi everyone, this is Drew! Sure, thanks for your question. Our latest release it's called
Architextures and I think it has the most aggressive sound we have ever made, I wanted it to
sound very powerful since the beginning, so the songwriting itself has been influenced by
this idea. No clean singing, almost no solos, it's a violent and at the same time spiritual
concept, because lyrics talk about something everyone is facing in these times: our past and
nature as humankind, made of intelligence and passion, sentiments, feelings, often
unconscious will, and the rising AI and technology, cold, rational, mercyless. A good use of
them could improve our wellness and lifestyle, but.. what if they are used in a bad way?
Architextures tries to answer this perennial quest, maybe it won't.. but, in that case, at least
you've listened to good music, don't you think? :-)
– How would you describe your sound?
Powerful, groovie, catchy, never trivial, surprising, polyhedric, unique.
– What do you write about?
In our lyrics there's always a philosophical point of view, some eternal dilemmas we try to
answer since the beginnig of time, some other born in these last decades.. and Architextures
is merely focused on the possible evolution of machines and AI, trying to explore what we
shall or shall not allow these silicon-based organisms to do.
– What do you listen to when you are home?
A lot of different music! Surely I love rock and metal, but I also go crazy for bands like
Beatles, Oasis, Porcupine Tree, Duran Duran, artists like Bryan Adams, Ennio Morricone,
Brian Eno, Bach, Schonberg, Patitucci, Dave Weckl, Steve Vai, indian music and their
extreme ability to manage time and rythm in music, Roxette, Stereophonics, Radiohead...
and many others!
– Your favourite live performance so far?
In 2013 at Tendenze festival in our country: we played our stuff perfectly! A flawless
victory performance!
– Tell us a funny story that happened in studio or on stage.
Nothing real funny to tell.. really, we are really focused and concentrate when we play.
– Your favourite albums?
Vulgar Display Of Power (Pantera), Destroy Erase Improve (Meshuggah), Heartwork
(Carcass), Symbolic (Death), Slaughter Of The Soul (At The Gates), Reroute To Remain (In
Flames), Dreaming Neon Black (Nevermore), ...And Justice For All (Metallica), Obsolete
(Fear Factory), Arise (Sepultura), A Predator's Portrait (Soilwork), Korn (Korn), Hybrid
Theory (Linkin' Park), Burning Bridges (Archenemy)... I think these ones are the albums
that more than others influenced my style.
– A musician you would like to meet for a beer?
Philip Anselmo, for sure! Damn... I love that man!!! :-D And we both love beer and whisky!
– What would you ask for backstage, if you were the most important band on earth?
If I played in the most important band on earth, I'd surely want:
Beer, whisky, kebab, PlayStation, Gaviscon, Ketoprofene, Mars Icecream and.. my Netflix
account.
– What are your plans for the near future?
I think I'm not going to write music for some months, I need a pause between an album and
the next one, I don't have any pressure and I have to write music when I feel it's the right
moment. I work as a chef in a restaurant in my city, that's my first job and most of my time
is taken by this other great passion I always had!
