Idle Lane - Feet on The Fire

Idle Lane is a dynamic alternative hard rock band hailing from Victoria, British Columbia. Their robust, groove-heavy dual guitar approach is a tribute to the classic rock sounds of the '70s and the alternative rock movement of the '90s. Drawing inspiration from bands like Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins, as well as classic acts such as Cream and The Beatles, Idle Lane crafts a rich blend of rock grooves that perfectly complement their songs.

Their new song Feet on the Fire "is about life after heartbreak. It’s about grieving while trying to keep your heart open despite how bad being vulnerable might have hurt you in the past. Even if you lose something beautiful, it’s better than never having had it."

After a slow and melodic intro, the song explodes in a grunge/alternative riff. The rhythm section is very dynamic and precise and the vocals remind me of Smashing Pumpkins (I love the chorus, very catchy). I love the break at 3.15, with an inspired guitar solo and pounding drums. This is a very cool, well-written and performed song, perfect if you love the 90s (like myself).
