Signals Over Skylines is a dynamic four-piece band from Longwood, Florida, making a splash in the pop punk and alternative music scenes with their debut EP, "Day After Day." Released on November 1, 2024, the EP was recorded at Lowland Recordings, a studio renowned for collaborating with top-tier bands like Phantom Limbs and Catcher and the Rye. This project reflects years of personal growth and experiences, incorporating themes of personal trauma and relationship building into their music.
The EP is comprised of 3 songs. It starts with the title track and with a clean arpeggio until the pounding drums kick in (what a sound!), as well as the anthemic chorus. The production is pure power and the performance by the band is spot on. The song is energetic and powerful and the vocals are very inspired and catchy. There is also a clean and melodic solo section. A great start, definitely, and a great choice as an opener.
The second track Bears is more upbeat than the title track and a little more straightforward, with heavy riffs, a great solo, a dynamic rhythm section, and the usual catchy vocals, melodic and energetic at the same time. A heavy riff at the beginning of Rain, very anthemic, amazingly written and performed, and with lots of tasty little details (I love the little solos/licks toward the end of the song, for instance).
