Well, I really enjoyed Stereo Crush. It's punchy, with a modern sound, and overall fun to listen to (maybe an underestimated element). It starts with the powerful AI & I, with a very energetic verse, followed by two great singles, Thunder & Lightning and Rusty Rose. The album is fun and it features a famous cover as well, Drive My Car by The Beatles, not an exceptional one but the style of the band and of the album.
The band loves repeating the words, apparently After Bang Bang (a very cool song/album from about a decade ago), we find here Boom Boom, to me the only skip track on the album (despite a great sound), a little too juvenile and banal to my ears. But, hey, we have another one, Shake Shake, with probably my favourite chorus of the entire album, so I guess I forgive them. There is a space for some good power ballads as well, Burning Bridges (great drumming on this one!) the anthemic Life, and the final track These Are The Days which balance the rhythm of the album.
I find Stereo Crush way more inspired than the two previous releases by the band, Silver and #13. A great comeback by Gotthard, with a great production, the usual spotless performance, and again, a fun album to listen to. I think we will see this one in my personal top 10, at the end of the year.
